Ahmet Gumustekin, Sarcophaguses of Alphabet
The Global Bergsonism conference brings together scholars from across the world to explore the ongoing philosophical, cultural, and literary relevance of Henri Bergson’s ideas. Taking place in Istanbul at IFEA on October 16–17, 2025, this two-day event is part of the CNRS International Research Network “A Chapter in the Global History of Philosophy: New Perspectives on Bergsonism.”
Organized by M. Sait Özervarlı (Yıldız Technical University, Istanbul) and Caterina Zanfi (CNRS/ENS, Paris), the conference is held in collaboration with BILDEV, bringing special focus to regional engagements with Bergsonian philosophy—especially in Turkey, the MENA region, and beyond.
Sessions will address themes such as:
Bergsonism in Turkish and Iranian thought
Bergson’s influence on global literature and linguistics
Cross-cultural dialogues in philosophy of science and religion
New directions in interpreting Matter and Memory, Creative Evolution, and more
